Columbia Threadneedle Investments EMEA/APAC are developing their approach towards Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) governance and compliance by way of structured management systems, consistency across our portfolio, increased business engagement and improved technologies. We are looking for an inspirational and highly competent professional to lead the HSE function across the EMEA/APAC portfolio while collaborating with our colleagues globally and within service lines to ensure a joined-up approach to HSE compliance across the business.
You will play a lead role in developing our management system approach and leading the business towards achieving or alignment with external accreditations such as ISO:45001, ISO:14001 and ISO:50001.
In addition to achieving HSE Compliance across the EMEA/APAC portfolio, you will also play a lead role in the EMEA/APAC environmental/sustainability program by developing our approach to reducing environmental impact and commitment to NetZero in line with Global strategies.
How you'll spend your time...
Leading the HSE function across the EMEA/APAC region as part of the EMEA/APAC Corporate Services team by working with and supporting local Office/Facilities Managers to reduce risk and ensure compliance with all market level HSE related regulations and Columbia Threadneedle policies
The Head of HSE EMEA/APAC is the responsible and competent person across the EMEA/APAC regions providing expert HSE advice, support and consultation to the business as the senior subject matter expert.
Achieving and maintaining appropriate Health Safety and Environmental Management system accreditations (ISO:45001/ISO:14001) for EMEA/APAC in line with Global ERE/Ameriprise strategy, initiatives, alternative regions and service lines (e.g. Property/Asset Management)
Responsible for leading the EMEA/APAC environmental/sustainability program developing our approach to sustainability and commitment to NetZero in line with Global strategies including e.g. ESOS, SECR
Management and governance of 3rd party support services specific to HSE (William Martin (H&S), Anthesis (E&E), Occupational Health, local Dr provisions, Ergonomic services) across the regions ensuring cost/contractual control/governance vs outputs/services, deliverables and ensuring value for money
Ensure all activities for all properties are suitably risk assessed, locations are regularly audited/assessed with non-conformities logged/actioned in line with corporate SLA/KPI’s to ensure continual improvement
Development and implemention of technologies, systems, processes and policies to support compliance with all local HSE regulations and legislation for implementation at an EMEA/APAC regional level
Leading all HSE related communications, engagement and reporting activity across the regions including regular detailed Exec/board level and external HSE reporting
To be successful in this role you will have...
Experience working in a dynamic high profile business in a corporate environment at an international level preferred minimum EMEA/APAC
Health and Safety qualified – minimum NEBOSH (NGC) or equivalent required, diploma level preferred
Demonstrable experience implementing ISO:45001 H&S management systems
Full understanding and knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work act 1974 and The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (the Management Regulations)
Demonstrable experience developing international standard approaches to safety based on best practice and to capture individual market requirements (EMEA/APAC)
Demonstrable experience working with ISO:14001 & ISO:50001 Environmental Management systems
IEMA Practitioner or equivalent, diploma level preferred
Experience of ESOS and working with other international environmental legislation
Demonstrable experience of SECR, Exec and Board reporting
Experienced internal auditor, qualification preferred
Experience of developing integrated management systems
Demonstrable experience in project management
Knowledge of current HSE related market technologies, working practice and solutions
Ability to influence people, deliver business cases and obtain strategic support/investment
Successful candidate must have a can do/hands on attitude
Line management and people development experience
Delivering in-house training and train the trainer experience
