Ameriprise Financial has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Field Compensation Analyst to join our team! You will be part of the Advisor Compensation group, supporting the business within finance by designing, developing and administering compensation and recognition programs for advisors, while providing analytical and thought-leadership support to enterprise-wide initiatives aligned to the company's strategic priorities. This position will support advisor compensation programs across three channels: Ameriprise Advisor Group (AAG), Ameriprise Financial Institution Group (AFIG) and the Ameriprise Advisor Center (AAC). This position will analyze compensation program data and key metrics to support business decisions, identify process improvements and enhancements to existing programs and analytical tools. You will work closely with advisors, field leaders, and business partners to research and analyze compensation requests.

This position will gain broad exposure to advisor platforms, field leaders, and departments across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, implementation and ongoing development of advisor compensation programs by performing financial analysis and decision support for program assessments.

  • Draw conclusions from completed analysis, to facilitate action or decisions to drive the key strategic initiatives forward. Summarize analysis and create presentations for senior leadership.

  • Own program administration and act as a subject matter expert for compensation programs and policies including Minimum Wage/Salary monitoring, Enhanced Staff Support, Team Payout Rate, and AAC team compensation. Support efforts to analyze effectiveness of ongoing and new compensation programs, processes.

  • Will frequently interact with advisors and field leaders on compensation programs, reports, and inquiries. Perform compensation analysis to support programs and to provide decision support for Senior Leader questions.

  • Lead and participate in various compensation initiatives and projects, as well as represent the compensation department on cross-organizational initiatives. Build your knowledge of compensation

  • programs and advisor channels.

  • Develop strong working relationships across the organization (AAG, AAC, and AFIG business, Service & Operations, Technology, Compliance, Corporate Communications, and other areas)


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent

  • 3-5 years of experience

  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills with proven Excel skills.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work with colleagues at all levels across the enterprise.

  • Ability to communicate complex program requirements to individuals with varying understanding.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Finance degree and work experience.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with Ameriprise advisor platforms.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $69,900 - $94,400/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
